Research Projects

Our current research focuses on:

  1. Small-molecule inhibitors of human blood coagulation factors for the development of safer anticoagulant therapies.
  2. Plasma kallikrein inhibitors for the treatment of hereditary angioedema.
  3. Peptidomimetic P2X1 receptor ligands to modulate platelet activation and thrombus formation.
  4. Covalent inhibitors of the SARS-CoV-2 main protease for antiviral drug discovery.
  5. Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) inhibitors as a non-hormonal male contraceptive strategy.
  6. Cryo-EM structure elucidation of human blood coagulation factors to enable structure-based drug design.
  7. Microscale parallel synthesis and direct-to-biology approaches for rapid discovery of serine protease inhibitors.
  8. Total synthesis of natural products and their derivatisation for drug discovery.
